The Real Day 1..

Today marks the day Magic Castle - Katong , Official Opens for biz!! whooHOO!! to all magicians.. ITS TOTALLY DIFFERENT FEELING TO BE STANDING BEHIND THE COUNTER TRYING TO SELL MAGIC! i didnt really sold anything today.. but shermen and johny did sell things to 2 person.. shermen sold 2 fart bombs.. and johny.. a Teach-In trick.. Vijay came down and sold a J&J product.. and with their hard work.. i earned 13bucks worth of commission! ok.. it sounds like i didnt do anything.. but the Teach-In trick was taught by me to the customer.. it just happen that i too know that trick.. =)

i really hope sales will go up soon.. or i'll be really poor real soon.. >.<

i'll try to get some pictures of the shop up real soon =)

Day 1 - Magic Castle

Today marks the day i start working as a Demonstrator @ Magic Castle..!

Internship at castle let me feel how lousy i am at magic.. but i am not dishearten.. i will IMPROVE! i have all the time in the world..! I'll start working @ Katong Shopping Center's Magic Castle this coming Friday! do drop by and support me if you ever near the place!

Balloons wise.. i learnt a lot these days from David, WeiLai, Gabriel, Glen, Jocelyn, Jastina, Irene and especially Veronica. Without these people i dun think i get the chance to do even the DOG. i would like to thank these people

anyway.. here are some photos taken today during a jamming session with Glen.

we tried to perfect our 2D heart, and i suddenlly got the drive to do a really small one.. although its not as neat.. and i do feel i can do it even smaller.. will try tomorrow if i can.

Jamming @ Barons

Today went around singapore after Norvin's workshop @ FuChun CC.

Found the parents today was very supportive of their kids.. they stayed for the lesson, and learn with their kids! This breaks the learning curve needed by the younger kids too.. as their parents can learn first.. then slowly teach them.. thus.. even the young ones learnt things today! Great job to Norvin and Desmond =)

After that went across Singapore with Glen.. and visited TCCC's Performance Magic workshop.. was rather glad to see the 2 little girls still attending the class! i was rather afriad they wont go after last week.. and today they DID learn stuffs to bring home! =D

We went Balloons Barons after that.. spent cash on balloons again.. i think i going to be broke till my first pay day.. 3 wks later? dunno how to survive.. anyway.. Jamming session was great! Tried another attempt on making Gabriel's rose.. but failed badly again. Learnt few techniques from Gabriel's ,Wei Lai's , David's discussion.. you never know how much you can learn from them even though they just having random dicussions..

You scrub my back.. and i'll scrub yours..

Just like the title, this is how APC works..

This week, i conducted a balloon twisting workshop @ Elias CC on Monday. Norvin conducted a Magic and balloon workshop on Tuesday and Wednesday.. and Jeremy did a magic workshop last friday and also conducted a meeting on Wednesday with jocelyn and jastina teaching balloon twisting to the TWCC members.

Although like stated, workshops are conducted in APC by different trainers, we trainers scrubs each other's back as assistants.. Desmond and Dawn (Not from APC) came down to help me on my workshop, while i went down to norvin's jeremy's and also J²'s.. Tomorrow i'll try to go down to norvin's and Jermey's again to help. Life in APC is quite simple.. its like liverpool FC's motto.. You never walk alone.. although some times you rather walk alone like doing stage magic.. but still in APC we are a big family who indeed scrubs each other back and take care of one another..

its a good design for people who want to practise twisting balloons of the same size..

My First Magic Show..

Last Saturday marked the day i did my first Kids Magic Show! DJ, our star of the day was rather reluctant to sit down and watch the magic show needless to say help me with my show.. but after some time of getting his friends to help me.. little DJ was more then happy to help me turn white tissue paper in little Rebecca's hand into streams of colorful streamers.. he also helped me appear and share red glowing globes of "happiness , blessings and knowledge" with his friends..

Its a pleasant experience to do kids magic, love the way they follow instructions and wiggle their fingers and shout the magic word to play a part in the show.. (Luckily they did follow instructions.. or i'll look stupid ! )

After the show, Balloon sculptures was made not only for the kids present on the day.. but also the adults!

Last Saturday also marked Sharon Chia's Birthday! After the birthday party show above.. i headed down to her celebration. Decided to make something special for her so i sat down at Pasir Ris MRT Station Platform and Twisted Away! Took me some time to try and error, lots of stares from the people boarding and alighting from trains and also some approving nods from some couples too =D *take that u guys who give typical flowers to girls =D do something special! make them yourself!*

How it all started...

I started really learning magic about 4 years ago when i was still pursuing my Diploma in Info-Communications in Temasek Polytechnic. It all started from a stall just outside Tampines Mall. Some china exhibition with some stalls selling novelties items and food. One of the stalls was selling little Magic props, things like marked decks, linking rings, coin across gimmicks. He even was selling a DVD on Mahjong cheating. And that was the day i bought my first gimmick. Its a Gimmick where u produce coins from a pair of caps, and the coin jumps from cap to cap.. ending dissappearing in the caps. I went home, shown the effect to my family members and LOVED the feeling when i see the amazement on my family's face. i went back the next day got myself a Dice prediction gimmick and a marked deck, ever since i been showing magic to my Friends in School and also to my family members.

Till today.. i still do not know the name of this gimmick.. i still use it to do parlor/stand-up magic.

Its been 4 years plus since i started.. and this journey has only began...
